Did you know that rabbits teeth are always growing? They actually can grow 3-5” a year! That is why bunnies just can’t stop chewing! They have a natural need to chew on hard things to keep their teeth trimmed.
Health Tip: Check your rabbit’s teeth to be sure that they are properly being filed down and not impacting their ability to chew food. If given proper diet of plenty of hay, pellets, and toys, teeth length should generally not be a concern.
If you ever think that your bunny’s teeth are a concern, take them in to see a veterinarian and get a 30 second teeth trim if needed. While this is a necessary procedure, it can be risky and should usually be done by a vet, not at home. Risk of teeth fracture and even damage to the jaw is cause for concern.
Better Bunny Tip: Bunnies also just love chewing! Our Boredom Buster Toys perfectly satisfy their chewing urge while providing them healthy entertainment. Bunnies are inquisitive little creatures and love to play!
